HK men's épée squad bags bronze in Asian Games

The Hong Kong, China men’s épée team added a bronze to the SAR’s medal tally on Sunday in the Asian Games despite losing to Kazakhstan in the semifinals. The team of Fong Hoi-sun, Lau Ho-fung, Ng Ho-tin and Ho Wai-hang lost 34-45 against the reigning world champions. They shared the bronze medal with hosts Japan, who narrowly fell to South Korea 37-38. There was no third-place match in the team event. As for the SAR women's sabre team of Summer Sit, Lau Yee-ching, Laren Leung and Chu Wing-kiu, they bowed out of the Asian Games after losing 28-45 to South Korea in the quarterfinals. The SAR fencing squad finished this year's Games with two silver and four bronze medals. Edited by Edmond Fong
