HK clinches first esports bronze at 2026 Asian Games

Hong Kong, China has claimed its first esports medal at this edition of the Asian Games, after Li Hin-hei, Wong Yuk-cheung and Yeh Man-ho secured bronze in the fighting games event. The competition features three titles: The King of Fighters, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. Hong Kong, China’s run ended in the semifinals, where the SAR trio lost 0-3 to host nation Japan. With no bronze-medal match in the event, Hong Kong, China will share the bronze with the loser of the other semifinal between Saudi Arabia and South Korea. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Hong Kong, China defeated Thailand 3-2 to reach the top four. The bronze is Hong Kong, China’s first esports medal of these Asian Games and a landmark result for the SAR’s esports team. Edited by Aaron Tam
